Brewing Possibilities: A documentary by David Block.
David Block is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and an employee of the GET Café. Brewing Possibilities is David Block’s 10th documentary and has special meaning for David as a blind and autistic filmmaker. This film shares the mission and vision of a community nonprofit café in Narberth Pennsylvania, that offers employment and employment training opportunities to individuals with disabilities and neurodivergent conditions.

ABOUT DAVID BLOCK
For over 20 years, David Block has worked as a documentary producer/director and freelance journalist. He is autistic and legally blind, conditions he has lived with since birth.
As a freelance journalist, he has published over 1,500 articles in outlets including The New York Times (six times), The Philadelphia Inquirer, Jazz Journal International, The London Times, Runner’s World, Running Times, Runner’s Gazette, The Jerusalem Post, and dozens of local magazines and newspapers. Throughout his career, he has interviewed high-profile figures such as Kobe Bryant, Bill Cosby, Joe Frazier, Florence Henderson, Caitlyn Jenner, Lee Majors, Sarah Palin’s parents (Charles and Sally Heath), David Sanborn, McCoy Tyner, and Grover Washington, Jr. He has never shied away from difficult assignments and has never missed a deadline.
To date, he has produced nine documentaries, many of which have aired on television, screened at film festivals, and won awards.
In December 2017, David earned his Master’s Degree in Journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia. In April 2016, the university’s Journalism Department awarded him the Lori Schipper Scholarship for Distinguished Achievement in Journalism.
In 2021, David published his first book, Understanding the 613 Mitzvot, which took 11 years to complete. It was presented at the 2023 LA Times Festival of Books.
In 2023, he published his second book, Born Blind: The Traumas and the Triumphs.
He has also taught journalism to night school students.
